A plasma TV is a type of flat-screen television that uses plasma technology to display images. It works by using small cells filled with gas that are electrically charged to produce light. When the gas is excited, it emits ultraviolet light, which then strikes phosphor materials to produce visible colors. Plasma TVs were known for their deep blacks, vibrant colors, and wide viewing angles, making them popular for home entertainment. However, they are heavier and consume more energy compared to modern LED and OLED TVs, and have largely been replaced by these newer technologies.
